About us & our Farm
Sitting between Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, we have run our family farm for nearly 60 years. It is a mixed enterprise of dairy, beef and sheep.
We are members of Quality Meat Scotland assurance scheme and also the Marks & Spencer Farm Assurance scheme. Thus ensuring that all of our farming practices contribute to producing top quality meat using safe, hygienic and animal friendly methods, also that all stock are fed on a GM free diet.
We run a dairy herd of 250 Montbeliarde cows. This is a French breed which is considered dual purpose, giving both dairy and beef quality animals.
We rear all young stock from the dairy herd. They are bred from Montbeliarde and Aberdeen Angus bulls.
All non-breeding cattle are finished on the farm. All beef breeding stock become part of our small suckler herd with which we use an Aberdeen Angus bull.
Our lambing is on the spring with a flock of around 650 Scottish Mules. We use both Suffolk and Texel rams to produce strong cross lambs.
We also have a small flock of Isa Browns which live free range on the farm.
