Free Range Poultry

Our free range chickens and ducks are reared locally.  The birds enjoy being able to roam around the farmyard and are long matured for 12 weeks.

This approach ensures that the resulting birds are full of flavour, with well formed bodies, good skins and strong bones - all the signs of a good free range, naturally reared chicken.

At Christmas time we also sell Bronze Turkeys, White Turkeys and Geese.  These are all from the same producer and are kept in the same natural conditions. However, they are very popular so please call early and book your bird to avoid disappointment.

Local Wild Venison

All of our venison is supplied the McNaughton family from Balquhidder. They work together to process local, wild venison on their family farm.  As the venison is wild it’s completely organic. The venison is well hung for 7-10 days before butchering allowing the delicious gamey flavour to fully develop.

Scottish Pork & Bacon

All of our bacon & pork is supplied by Ramsay of Carluke, bacon curers of distinction since 1857.  Their bacon is made by using traditional methods and family expertise handed down through the years.

It has been cured and matured from loose house pigs which have been carefully selected to produce the finest full flavour bacon. their bacon, puddings and haggis have received countless awards in the industry and they have appeared on TV as one of Rick Stein’s food heroes.
